Vala is a dual-qualified lawyer in Australia and Germany, trained in both common and civil law systems, with a career spanning continents, industries, and leadership roles. His background includes working in mid and top-tier law firms, co-founding and leading startups in health and insurance technology, and advising on corporate transactions.

Vala has firsthand experience of the pressures faced by founders and executives, having built teams, led operations, developed market strategies, and negotiated high-level deals with healthcare providers and insurers. Known for his commercially focused approach, he provides strategic legal guidance tailored to business priorities, supporting startups, investors, and corporates across all aspects of corporate law, including fundraising, intellectual property, data protection, employment, and fintech regulation.

He has advised on investments ranging from $200,000 to $1.1 billion and played a key role in acquisition deals and regulatory matters involving B2C lending, crypto exchanges, and digital marketplaces. Most recently, he served as a legal adviser to numerous ventures at the Sydney Startup Hub, the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
